    As you may already know, Hurricane Sandy destroyed trails in the higher elevations. Help us get trails for Joey and Mandi to ride to save them from a nasty fate-road biking only. Contact info@wvmba.com if you live or like to ride in the Elkins area and would like to help us clear out trails on Cheat Mountain. This is a pristine area of Mon National Forest accessible from Files Creek Road in Beverly(just 2 miles south of Elkins). more...

  • Middle Mountain Momma WVMBA's First Ultra Race of Series

    Are you ready for some serious climbing and then descending? Douthat is a serious riding destination, with two long extended singletrack climbs to get you up to some awesome ridgetop riding before getting the big payout switchback downhills back into the valley. The XXC/Ultra version does the regular course with an extra bit of wild thrown in on the back of the ridge. Take advantage of drop points and checkpoints to get you to the finish line!     People are excited to get back to racing as evidenced by the turnout of the last two races. The day warmed up just enough midday to be perfect conditions for a mountain bike race on some new singletrack. Riders faced rock jumps, hucks, rollers, whoops, and other natural obstacles on the way to the finish. more...

  • Big Bear Race coming up next weekend!

    We're letting you have some new trails at Big Bear this weekend. All riders will experience "The Crack Trail" riding over boulder roller coasters and through a slot canyon/crack. Sports and Experts ride down all-new Gene's Trail (downhill/rock obstacles). Experts get the extra treat of racing it out for a custom made prize for fastest male and female through Beaver Creek on the prologue loop. You want racing here it is! more...

  • Douthat Causes Cramped Legs and Smoked Brake Pads

    No hazard markings here. You better hold on tight when you make it to the top and start back down. You rail a pencil-thin singletrack perched on the edge of a cliff going 40 mph, then around a turn comes a 180 degree switchback. Hope you have four-piston Hayes, and even then some are not makeable without posting a foot down and forcing the bike to slide around through the switchback. Cramp your legs on the way up, cramp your arms on the way down, this is good fun if you are brave enough. more...
