Being the only national forest in Ohio, Wayne contains great trails for hiking and mountain biking. Its historical landscapes and structures - such as the covered bridges - make it a must-see for enthusiasts of historical Ohio and Americana.

Forest is open 24/7 but Forest offices are open M-F 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Admission to Wayne National Forest, Ohio is free. A permit is required to use designated trails for horseback riding, mountain biking and off-road vehicles. There is also a small cost for camping at our developed campgrounds.

The Wayne National Forest, Marietta Unit. Venue: The Leith Run Recreation area is located on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River and is a popular attraction. Besides camping, Leith Run offers a variety of recreation activities for the entire family that includes Mountain Biking, fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking, group picnicking, and a playground for kids. There are 18 camping sites that can accompodate RVs, which offer electrical hookups, grills, fire rings, picnic tables, and lantern posts. Three walk-in tent sites are also available. Drinking water, hot showers, flush toilets and a dump station are also provided.
