Named for the horseshoe curve of the North Fork of the Hughes River, North Bend State Park in West Virginia, offers a multitude of recreational facilities in a beautiful pastoral setting. The fishing streams, hiking, equestrian, and biking trails, abundant wildlife and excellent overnight accommodations and restaurant are among this year-round park's most popular features.

Access to the park is free. Trail maps are free and available in the park or can by downloaded by clicking here.

Other Information:

North Bend also features the 72 mile North Bend Rail Trail, which is designed for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. The rail trail runs along the old B & O Railroad bed from Parkersburg, WV to Wolf Summit, near Clarksburg, WV.

North Bend has a 305 acre recreational lake. A boat ramp, handicapped accessible fishing pier, and other fishing access points.

There are approximately 21 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails in the park as well.

The Lake Trail project is in the planning and construction phases of development as funding becomes available. The Lake Trail Foundation is working with other organizations to build this trail around the lake. When finished this trail should be over 20 miles long, currently about 8 miles are finished.
