Chief Logan Wilderness Challenge XC#3
Keeping the heat on and adding to the fire!
As always, Logan Mountain Bike Association keeps their trails well maintained and puts on a fine affair come race day. Always worth the drive, get to see new and different faces and for this year they somehow got things blazing; when we left for the drive home it was 85°F!
Racers from the northern lands don't always make it down, but the ones that do mean business, and so it was Sunday. This was also the first time that we have seen Brad Schmalzer (and family) and a few of the Charleston folks that make up our Summer Tour. Top honors went to one of our favorite Ohioans Ben Ort, followed closely by Brad, Steve Rowand, Todd Latocha, some sneaky single-speed fellow, then Sporto-upgrade Jedd Guthrie.
No one claimed the Super-Bonus prize for beating the time of 1:45, but at the end of the day the prizes were generous, the food abundant and no one saw one of the two recently escaped Bobcats. It was a fine day in April indeed.
