MRCC Minutes for October 15,2008
Attendance: Dan and Jane Jones, Rick and Marie Ralston, John and Kittie Clark Linda Lewis, Peter Prigge
Treasurer’s report: Checking: $ 442.61, Club Acct: $ 53,450.78, Jim Stephens MAWBF: $ 14,857.51 ( Please note this is as of Sept. 30, 2008, Before the bottom dropped out of the stock market).............Triathlon Receipts: $ 680 Expenses: $ 550
Triathlon: 38 Participants, Bob Etter is working on a tee shirt design since there was some profit.
Muskingum River Tour: Oct 4, 2008 from Lowell to Marietta.7 or 8 boats participated. The Dayton rowing club was there as well..
Cycling Update: The mountain bike club is building a second bridge on the Christy property, but not on the originally planned site .
Boy’s and Girl’s club: Hope to move the bikes to Ryan Smiths building in next 2 weeks
Boat removal from Boathouse: All boats should be out of basement of Marietta College boathouse by Nov. 15, 2008. The door will not be locked after that time.
Harmar Boat Club:Laura Lindamood has left, now need a women’ rowing coach. They are having a fund raiser at Comfort Inn on Nov.7, 2008. $100.00 a ticket for cash drawing and dinner. Regatta: Oct. 25, in Columbus, Nov 1, in Marietta.
Rowing Update:Wing needs moved after rowing season, but currently being used
Dragon Boat: going to Pittsburgh was a good experience for the Marietta rowers, The boat will be taken out of the water on Oct 18, moved to storage at Pioneer Pipe. The paddlers are working on a winter conditioning program.
Boat Maintenance: Nancy is finished and moved to the museum. The plan is to flip the Daubler over
for cleaning, with the help of some college students.
Club House: Dan continues to discuss leasing the lock house. He has a meeting scheduled with the Mayor and the law director this week. River Rendezvous Ride: Next years date is June 6 and 7th. The planning committee will begin
meeting at 6PM prior to MRCC meetings in November.
There was some discussion about oars that MRCC had purchased and now no one knows their whereabouts. Next meeting November 19, 2008 Submitted: Marie Ralston
