The forming of the Mid-Ohio Valley Bicycle Council
A group of citizens and organizations working towards a safer biking community. Funded by grants and organized by Adventure Pursuit, a 501(c)3 non-profit.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Bicycle Council held its first Bike Symposium, coordinated by Adventure Pursuit, at Homecrest Manor on Wednesday June 4th from noon to one. More than twenty people attended to show their support for creating an awareness of biking issues and creating a safe bike path between two selected neighborhoods for the PARK program.
The Bike Symposium was very successful in getting great community participation and feed back!
We'd like to take a moment and thank those whom participated in this bike symposium. Bill Robinson from the WV Department of Transportation, Ann Conageski and Ruthana Beezley from the City of Parkersburg, Tom Joyce from the Parkersburg City Council, Keith Roberts from the Parkersburg Police, DJ Morris, Kim Hill, and Deby Showalter from the Parkersburg Housing Authority, Greg Moore from the Parkersburg Bike Shop and RVMBA, Ken Davis from Bob's Bicycle Shop, Greg Garrett an experienced biking group leader, Gary Hamilton from the Ohio Valley Ski Club, Lori Tofaute from Full Circle Yoga, Andi Roberts from Roberts Family Photography, Treasa Mackey as a resident of Homecrest Manor, and many thanks goes out to Kim Broughton of Adventure Pursuit for orchestrating much of the event. This list was comprised of those whom RSVPd or signed the attendance form, if we missed any names, we deeply apologize and hope that you know your presence was also honored. All of your time there was very meaningful, we hope you got plenty to eat, and are ready to help in any way to help folks get out on the streets with their bikes in the safest atmosphere as possible.
