Johnson T. Janes Trail building Report and Bridge Update - 10 hours of volunteer time donated.
Today was another great day in the woods working on the trails in the Johnson T. Janes City Park. Thanks to those who helped and for the expertise on the much needed chain saw. There were not a lot of trees down surprisingly because of the storm a few weeks ago but there were enough to keep us busy clearing.
Probably one of the highlights of the day for me was hiking to the park entrance and seeing the new trail and start of bridge construction completed by the City. Earlier this week I got to see one of the signs for the kiosks that will go in the park. Top-notch! Thanks to the Change the Future WV grant, a complete signage system is waiting to be installed.

Johnson T. Janes Park is a 100 acre park that lies within the northeastern portion of Parkersburg city limits. Once open to the public it will contain a 4 mile single and double track hike/bike system. Entrance is at the end of 27th street in Parkersburg after the construction of a bridge over Worthington Creek.
