My grandson and I have been spending times in the woods together almost from the moment he was born. He pretty much knows if I am coming for a visit, we will be hiking. He still looks at his old hiking stroller, points as it and calls it "his hike". Now we have agreed it is time for his sister to join us using "his hike."
I love hiking with him. He sees things in ways I have forgotten to see them. Every time I take him for a hike, he opens my eyes.

Fantastic wooded trail system behind Edison Middle school. Fenced in as well. Approximately 1 mile of mulched trails. Steep in some sections. The Master Gardeners of Wood County volunteer in the park and have wonderful signage identifying plant types throughout. There is an outdoor classroom and benches throughout the system. Well worth a visit.
