Provider: Johnson T. Janes Park

What a great day of hiking and planning we enjoyed in the Johnson T. Janes City Park. The wildlife and view we enjoyed were wonderful. The River Valley Mountain Bike Association has asked the City of Parkersburg if they can make a proposal for hike/bike trail development on the 65 acre section of the park that does not have a trail network plan developed yet. The 35 acre section of the park has a master plan and our planning will tie into and augment the planned system. The terrain is wonderful and we are excited by the potential. Duane Jones with his trusty GPS led the hike by taking us to the boundaries of the 65 acre tract. Chris and Brette Swarr and Kimberly Coram enjoyed the hike with Duane and are working to develop the master plan for consideration. What a great gift this park is. Thanks to the landowners who donated this land to the city!
