Exploring a new trail system

As noted in a recent article in Dirt Rag the Parkersburg, WV - Marietta, OH area is a great hub to singletrack within reach. Recently I finally joined a friend of mine and fellow member of RVMBA who wanted to show me some sweet singletrack that was as close as Lake Hope or Charles Fork Lake. My friend Mike, had ridden there a few times and really likes the trails so I decided to take him up on his offer to show me around his favorite loop.

I met Mike early on Saturday morning and I was off on a new adventure. One hour and 16 minutes later we were pulling into Dillon State Park near Zanesville, OH. It's always awesome to ride with someone familiar with the trails when you have never been there. We started our ride from the campground instead of the marina like most do. I was impressed within the first 10 minutes. Started shooting some video of our ride. The trails are pretty sweet, with a few technical spots, some awesome rock gardens, bridges, boardwalks, steeps, and sweet flowing fast trails.

Don't be afraid to check out new trails when you have a chance. You don't know what you might be missing. In this case I have added another place to ride to my arsenal of trails throughout WV and OH. Of course, I happened to chalk up another battle scar in the process, but still can't wait to go back for some more sweet singletrack just slightly over an hour from home.
