Daydreamin'
As I gazed out the window at work into the endless white blanket continuing to pile up around me I found myself daydreaming about some of the trails I had ridden when the weather was good. I found it difficult to maintain attention on my work however was able to complete the tasks at hand. Once at home I got on my bike and tried to ride through the yard and found it impossible so it was into the house where the daydreamin' returned as I found myself sitting in front of my computer with a cup of hot tea going through the hundreds of photos from the past season of riding.
My mind started slipping into the photos and I soon imagined being there, riding my favorite bike, sharing the trail with good friends, the challenges, the injuries, the passion and the beauty of nature I always seem to find along the way. I found myself laughing at some, feeling sad at others, remembering the scent of the forest, and hoping that I will have yet another chance to enjoy all those trails and more in the coming season.
My mind bounced along Plantation Trail and Moonrocks Trail near Davis, WV

Arms nearly ached as I remembered Huckleberry and Judy Springs trails at Spruce Knob.

I could feel the sting of the nettles on Cow Pasture Trail and the prickly pine needles on Tea Creek Mountain Trail near Slatyfork.

And a smile stretched my cheeks as I viewed pictures of group rides at Mountwood.

The serenity of these views drew silence and a sigh of sadness as I remembered our last ride on trails lost
to mountain biking, taken by wilderness designation - The North Sods above Canaan Valley.

Yet excitment came over me when I looked at a few photos from the Wayne National Forest and City of Marietta
Trials enjoyed with friends.

Of course I got a relaxed feeling looking at the photos of a solo ride at North Bend State Park

And so many photos of awesome friends and more I have made, couldn't be posted on a single site so only a
few special ones could be shared.

I consider myself totally blessed to have had the opportunity to ride in all the great locations that West Virginia and Ohio have provided. And will only feel worthy when I can share them with all those who have a passion for this sport we call Mountain Biking. The photo tour helped my cabin fever and I hope has inspired you to join us for an adventure in the coming months. It will be green before you know it. Life is short.... Get out and ride !
