Frequently asked questions about the Frontier Hiking Club

Below you will find the answers to some commonly asked questions about the Frontier Hiking Club:

· Hikes are every other Saturday morning.

· We always rendezvous at the Kroger Wetlands in Marietta prior to driving to our hiking destination. If you live closer to the destination than the Wetlands, you are more than welcome to meet us at our destination.

· We attempt to leave the Wetlands promptly at 8:00 am, so try to get there a little before 8:00 am

· We carpool whenever possible so everyone does not have to drive separate cars. You may drive yourself if you choose.

· If you ride with someone else, always be considerate and offer some money for gas. They may, or may not, take it…but at least be considerate and make the offer.

· We strongly recommend you wear a good pair of hiking boots. We hike in various terrains and environments and sometimes encounter cold, snow, mud and stream crossings.

· Always wear weather appropriate (rain, snow, cold, etc.) attire.

· There is no fee for joining the Frontier Hiking Club. We are just a local group of individuals that share an interest and enjoyment in the outdoors.

· Snacks and drinks for the hikes are your responsibility. For longer or more distant hikes, we often stop for lunch after hiking…so always bring money for lunch.

· You are responsible for your own clothes, camera, equipment, or any other personal property you bring on the hikes.

Also, on one of the off weekends in 2010, we plan to do an overnight trip to the WV mountains. I will send out details of this trip as soon as they are finalized.

I look forward to seeing you on a hike soon!
