Ride to the ride was awesome

I love riding at night. I love doing it later at night when there is little to no traffic. It gives the city a magical quality when you ride your bike through the area as if the roads were made just for you. I use my bicycle as my main source of transportation so when faced with driving to a community bike ride in Marietta, I started looking for other options. My first thought was to carpool. Then someone suggested riding to the ride; well, of course. Six of us met at Parkersburg Bicycle at 5 pm and 5 of us headed out towards Marietta. It was relatively warm, a little above freezing and everyone was well dressed for the trip. Our 6th rider caught up with us at the YMCA and joined us for the return trip home and provided SAG!

lights ride

We made it in about an hour and then with plenty of time to spare, we enjoyed some yummy hot chocolate at McDonalds. Thanks Jeff for the treat! The 14th annual holiday lights ride started and ended at the Marietta YMCA. Eighty-one riders gathered and toured the city in style enjoying good company, festive lights, and a well organized event. Thanks to all of those who organized such a great event.

After cookies, hot chocolate and lots of great company, we headed back to Parkerburg. It was an absolutely wonderful ride back to town. The whole evening was wonderful. I so enjoy the wonderful people I am blessed to be surrounded by. Peace, love, pedal.
