Awesome weather draws riders to "The Wayne"

Ejoying the amazing weather in late November 6 RVMBA members made their way through the forest of the Wayne National.

The day started a bit cool and by noon still required warm clothing. However, shortly after beginning the ride everyone was pealing layers off as the sun brought the temps into the upper 50's.

The trails were in great shape even though there had been a some rain showers in the days leading up to our ride. We rode out Ohio View Trail from Sheets Run Rd. and went across the connector toward Archers Fork Loop. As we crossed County Rd. 9 Anne had the crankarm bolt break off. How would she be able to continue the ride. After some searching of packs Anne found an old skewer in her pack. Chris made a valiant effort and was able to use the skewer through the crank to hold on the crank arm.

Well, it worked fine for the first 1/4 mile and then came loose. Some more McGyer tricks by Duane and Chris with wire ties and duct tape had her back on the trail in no time. This time it held and Anne was able to enjoy the entire ride.

After cutting over to County Rd. 9 again, off of Archers Fork Loop, we dove back into singletrack on the NCT and took it around and crossed the road right onto Scenic River Trail and our final few miles.

A great time was had by all on one more of those awesome nice days that November dealt us. Looks like it might be time now to dig out the cold weather gear. Hope to see you on the trails.
