  • Al's Barn

    A great place to dance, listen to some great music and meet wonderful folks. Their goal is to help people in need & keeping the heritage of the best music from the hills alive.

  • Camp Barbe/Wirt County 4-H Grounds

    Rustic cabins, pavilion, bridle ring. Available for reunions, gatherings, company picnics and conferences. Adjacent to Little Kanawha River.

  • Creston Community Park

    This was once the school and is now the community center. There is a playgound area for children with a variety of old and new equipment. I have been told the merry go round is the favorite of visiting children.

  • Crossroads Marathon

    A country store with rafts, life vests and all kinds of gear for enjoying the local outdoors. Even have stuff to ease your bee stings and I was very grateful for that.

  • Dick Fleek's Ball Field

  • Hughes River Wildlife Management Area (WMA)

    WMA Program enables wildlife biologists to conserve and manage habitat to benefit all wildlife specie. Size: 10,000 acres Terrain: ranges from river bottoms to steep slopes with mature oak-hickory and a patchwork of young pine-hardwood stands created by even-aged timber management.

  • Mingo Bottom Golf Club

    Mingo Bottom Golf Club is a beautiful 18 hole Golf Club located only 1 mile from Elizabeth on the Little Kanawha River. Our golf course features 180 acres of rolling greens, ponds, and breathtaking views.

  • Old Staunton Pike Greenhouse and Yoga Studio

    A great yoga studio in a little log cabin on the Hughes River.

  • Poor Farm Trail

    This was a trail developed about 20 years ago but is no longer in use.

  • Sportsman Park to the town of Elizabeth connector

    This will connect the town of Elizabeth to Sportsman Park by creating an asphalt trail where the current "goat path" exists.

  • Sportsman’s Park

    Riverside park featuring the shelters, game courts, boating access, tennis, ¼ mi. walking trail, amphitheater. Warning: there is a dam 2 miles downstream.

  • The Big Green field beside the Board of Education

    A 2 1/2 or so acre green field managed by the Board of Education for use by the community. It is beside the high school and all are welcome to use it! It is surrounded by gravel and the school uses it to ride their bikes on.

  • Wells Lock Park

    Historic navigational lock and dam, fishing, public stream canoe and kayak access, picnic shelter, primitive camping and a great swimming hole.

  • Wirt County Committee on Aging Fitness Facility

    An impressive fitness center with a variety of weight machines and cardio equipment.

  • Wirt County Middle School Walking Trail

    A paved asphalt trail that winds around the schools in an interesting way and parallels the river on one side. It is probably 1/4 mile or so in length.

  • Wirt County Primary Center Indoor Walking Trail

    An indoor walking route that goes throughout the school. Open in the colder months. Includes a route with or without stairs. The route with stairs is 1/2 mile lap. The route without stairs is 3/10ths of a mile.
