  • Crabman's Tackle and Bait

    A specialty Bass Pro Shop providing items for novice fishermen to expert tournament competitors. The store sells technique and species specific fishing supplies including rods, reels, live baits, hard-to-find specialty baits, lures, and other fishing accessories and fishing tools.

  • Ellenboro Elementary School

    Asphalt walking trail makes a figure eight around a T-ball field and school gymnasium. Approximately 600 ft. long with flat terrain.

    A group of individuals dedicated to the annual "Make it Shine" clean-up at North Bend State Park.

  • Harrisville Park Walking Trail

    Community recreation area with a winding paved walking trail approximately 1/2 mile long with some mild elevations, picnic shelters, electricity and water, restrooms, seasonal concession, playground, tennis courts, badminton/volleyball court, and baseball field.

  • Hughes River Wildlife Management Area (WMA)

    WMA Program enables wildlife biologists to conserve and manage habitat to benefit all wildlife specie. Size: 10,000 acres Terrain: ranges from river bottoms to steep slopes with mature oak-hickory and a patchwork of young pine-hardwood stands created by even-aged timber management.

    The Little Kanawha RC&D writes grants for trails and builds trails in a nine county area. We have a professional trail building crew we use to construct trails and help design and lay them out.

    With hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, picknicking, camping, festivals, and community activities, there’s something for everyone at Mountwood Park in Wood County, West Virginia. All are welcome to enjoy this 2,600 acre wooded park with a fifty-acre lake and over fifty miles of biking, hiking and horseback riding trails.

  • Mountwood Park to North Bend Rail Trail Connector

    This trail will connect the North Bend Rail Trail to Mountwood Park.

  • Murphy Preserve

    The Murphy family donated this 276 acre tract to The Nature Conservancy in 1967 so that there would always be a place where natural processes could continue without human intrusion. The preserve consists of two tracts of older oak-hickory forest on rolling topography of hills and coves. The two ponds on the property have a large number of amphibians and have been the subject of several research projects.

    We are a non-profit organization, represented by citizens of the four counties (Wood, Ritchie, Doddridge and Harrison) which make up the North Bend Rail Trail. Our primary objective is to support, promote and provide for the improvement of the Trail.

    Named for the horseshoe curve of the North Fork of the Hughes River, North Bend State Park in West Virginia, offers a multitude of recreational facilities in a beautiful pastoral setting. The fishing streams, hiking, equestrian, and biking trails, abundant wildlife and excellent overnight accommodations and restaurant are among this year-round park's most popular features.

  • Pennsboro City Park: Tracy Lake

    Tracy Lake, also known as Bonds Creek Lake, is in the Pennsboro City Park three miles north of the town center. It is a 12-acre man-made lake surrounded by steep-sided, wooded hills and a dam at its northern end that drains into the Bonds Creek watershed. A rough fisherman's trail approximately 2 miles long circles the lake along the shore and on the remnants of old ATV trails. Old ATV trails and logging roads are abundant in the hills surrounding Tracy Lake.

  • Pennsboro Depot Trailhead

    Newly completed Pennsboro Depot Trailhead complete with a bio-retention rain garden and pervious asphalt pavement

  • Pennsboro Reservoir

    Pennsboro Reservoir is a 9-acre dammed lake surrounded by wooded hills and private property. A gravel trail of approximately 1/4 mile follows the length of its south-eastern shore and terminates at a gate. It is a mild, gradual downhill trail.

  • Pennsboro Roller Rink

    A skating rink that makes you feel like you have stepped back into time. Much fun!
