Broughton Wildlife and Education Area
"The wildlife area contains more than 500 acres of land and is available for wildlife and environmental study by groups or individuals. It is an educational area with several trails, two ponds, a natural stream, waterfall and several areas of undisturbed nature located about one mile north of Marietta. The main entrance and parking area is located near a red barn off of Ohio 821. The Route 60 entrance is behind the Marietta Bible College. The nature area is open when the gates are unlocked."

Mountain bike and hiking trails, historic village, picnic shelters and sites, meeting center, playground, ball fields, game courts, two ponds and camp sites. There are approximately 7 miles of hike/bike trails in the park of a variety of difficulty.

A multi-use area with over 25 miles of trails surrounding a mile-long lake that sports excellent fishing, canoeing,mountain biking, hiking and camping. The beautiful trails are mostly winding,wooded dirt single-track with old fire road trail as well. The campground has plenty of level road /grass for small children to bike on plus a great stream to play in!

Coopers Rock State Forest
Coopers Rock State Forest is 13 miles east of Morgantown and 8 miles west of Bruceton Mills. Its 12,713 acres are bisected by Interstate 68. Although the forest serves as a recreation and preservation area, it has a wider range of uses. West Virginia's state forests also serve as areas of publicly owned land for forestry research, timber management, and watershed and wildlife protection.

Frozen Camp Wildlife Management Area (WMA)
WMA Program enables wildlife biologists to conserve and manage habitat to benefit all wildlife species.
Size: 2,587 acres
Terrain: hilly with wooded slopes, some open bottomland and a few open ridge tops.
Hunting Prospects: deer, grouse, rabbit, squirrel, turkey, waterfowl.
Trails: from CR 8/5 a parking area offers foot travel access across an old road traversing open bottomland to the Jackson county border and the lake beyond.

Grandview Park
Grandview became part of New River Gorge National River in 1990, after more than 50 years as one of West Virginia's most popular day use state parks. The park is well known for its spectacular views of the New River and beautiful rhododendron.
Park features include overlooks of the New River, a visitor center (open seasonally), five hiking trails, ranger-led walks and talks, summer outdoor dramas, and picnic areas with playgrounds.

Greenbrier State Forest provides over 5,100 acres of heavily forested, mountainous terrain for outdoor recreation. Magnificent views of the surrounding countryside are afforded by the impressive and imposing 3,280 high Kate's Mountain.

This is an informal bicycling group organized by Greg. He keeps things simple and sends out emails of rides to a mailing list of interested folks. They do all kinds of rides.
