  • Arnoldsburg Community Park

    Otherwise known as West Fork Community Park. This lovely park has a one-story community park building with park facilities such as ball fields and an area for making molasses. There is a paved, level walking path of about 1/4 mile in length as well.

  • Belmont Elementary School

    The paved, pedestrian walking path is an approx. 1/2 mile loop with some very mild elevations. There are a few nice shaded benches near the school entrance. This trail is open to the public and its use is encouraged.

  • Belmont Recreation Area

    Community recreation space. This is a very nice park! There is a paved walking trail that makes a figure 8 through the area and then extends to join the Pleasants County Middle School walking trail. This a recently improved, smooth walking surface with a flat grade. The figure 8 is approx. 1/8th of a mile.

  • Ben's Run

    Ben's Run is a dynamic hiking trail in that one can literally leave the hike from Downtown Spencer. This outdoor area adjoins the City Pool and Washington Park and presents an outdoor option for the whole family. There is a historic dam on this half-mile+ dirt surface trail.

  • Boys and Girls Club of Pleasants County

    Where do local youth go after school or in the summer? To the Boys & Girls Club of Pleasants County! There, they find all kinds of social, recreational and educational activities, along with a helpful, caring staff.

  • Calhoun County Park

    Mountain bike and hiking trails, historic village, picnic shelters and sites, meeting center, playground, ball fields, game courts, two ponds and camp sites. There are approximately 7 miles of hike/bike trails in the park of a variety of difficulty.

  • Camp Sheppard

    The Camp Sheppard 4-H Grounds are located in beautiful Gandeeville, WV. Facilities at Camp Sheppard include a well-appointed kitchen, large assembly and dining hall, and eight handicapped-accessible cabins. Camp Sheppard can be rented year-round for special events such as weddings, summer camps, family reunions, and dinners. The camp is open to the public as well.

  • Charles Fork Lake

    A multi-use area with over 25 miles of trails surrounding a mile-long lake that sports excellent fishing, canoeing,mountain biking, hiking and camping. The beautiful trails are mostly winding,wooded dirt single-track with old fire road trail as well. The campground has plenty of level road /grass for small children to bike on plus a great stream to play in!

  • Creston Community Park

    This was once the school and is now the community center. There is a playgound area for children with a variety of old and new equipment. I have been told the merry go round is the favorite of visiting children.

  • Harrisville Park Walking Trail

    Community recreation area with a winding paved walking trail approximately 1/2 mile long with some mild elevations, picnic shelters, electricity and water, restrooms, seasonal concession, playground, tennis courts, badminton/volleyball court, and baseball field.

  • I am a Chef

    I Am A Chef is an engaging show for children of all ages - even those older in years, but still young at heart. This program has two components; a live, hands-on cooking demonstration, and a fun, physical activity that gets kids up and moving.

  • Looney Trail

    A trail that connects Grantsville to the hospital. It is approximately 100 yards long.

  • McDonough Wildlife Refuge

    The McDonough Wildlife Refuge is a scenic 277-acre wildlife refuge with trails that pass through beautiful wetlands and a forested hillside. The refuge offers several miles of well-marked and maintained trails for hiking and is a haven for local wildlife such as white-tailed deer and migratory birds.

  • Mountwood Park

    With hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, picknicking, camping, festivals, and community activities, there’s something for everyone at Mountwood Park in Wood County, West Virginia. All are welcome to enjoy this 2,600 acre wooded park with a fifty-acre lake and over fifty miles of biking, hiking and horseback riding trails.

  • North Bend Rail to Trails Foundation

    We are a non-profit organization, represented by citizens of the four counties (Wood, Ritchie, Doddridge and Harrison) which make up the North Bend Rail Trail. Our primary objective is to support, promote and provide for the improvement of the Trail.

  • North Bend State Park

    Named for the horseshoe curve of the North Fork of the Hughes River, North Bend State Park in West Virginia, offers a multitude of recreational facilities in a beautiful pastoral setting. The fishing streams, hiking, equestrian, and biking trails, abundant wildlife and excellent overnight accommodations and restaurant are among this year-round park's most popular features.

    Our mission is to financially and otherwise support projects that will improve the facilities at North Bend State Park. By enhancing the recreational opportunities and activities that are currently offered, we hope to make the overall experience at North Bend State Park more enjoyable.

    Picture an area in downtown Parkersburg that is temporarily closed to motorized vehicles and designated so community members can safely bike, walk, run, and play. That is what Park Day is all about. We will keep you posted on its development here!

    The intent of the creation of the Parkersburg Bicycle Advisory Board is to advise the City Council, the Mayor and all Departments and Offices of the City on matters related bicycling and the impart City actions may have upon bicycling.

  • Pleasant Hill Elementary

    The school has a paved walking path approximately 1/4 mile in length that loops around the playground behind the school. There is a single moderate elevation to get your heart rate up!
