  • Belmont Elementary School

    The paved, pedestrian walking path is an approx. 1/2 mile loop with some very mild elevations. There are a few nice shaded benches near the school entrance. This trail is open to the public and its use is encouraged.

  • Belmont Recreation Area

    Community recreation space. This is a very nice park! There is a paved walking trail that makes a figure 8 through the area and then extends to join the Pleasants County Middle School walking trail. This a recently improved, smooth walking surface with a flat grade. The figure 8 is approx. 1/8th of a mile.

  • Boys and Girls Club of Pleasants County

    Where do local youth go after school or in the summer? To the Boys & Girls Club of Pleasants County! There, they find all kinds of social, recreational and educational activities, along with a helpful, caring staff.

  • Fitness Facility at Pleasants County Middle School

    A wonderful facility for the school and public's use. Features a wide range of equipment to include a treadmill, elliptical machines, exercise bikes, 2 Total gyms, a wide range of bar bells and bands, DDR, an Intel Board for watching fitness shows and videos that come with equipment, boxing equipment. Sounds super wonderful! Currently only available to students and facility but arrangements are under way to open to the public. Made possible by a grant through WV Schools on the Move.

  • French Creek

    Major Embayment of Ohio River with public access site Stripped, largemouth and smallmouth, hybrid and white bass, walleye, northern pike, souger, freshwater drum, channel and flathead catfish. A great place to launch a kayak/canoe for a paddle.

  • Gobbler's Knob Trail

    A dirt, wooded path located in The Park in Pleasants County. Approximately 1 1/4 mile with some steep terrain. Super fun!

  • Green Valley Riding Club

    Group of folks who enjoy horses and get together for rides,shows and fun.

  • Hometown Golf

    Play a round of goofy golf in downtown St Marys! Very nicely done with neat and unique obstacles.

  • Indoor swimming pool at Pleasants County Middle School

    This is a beautiful indoor swimming pool in the county's middle school open to the public in the colder months. It is managed by the Pleasants County Parks and Recreations Department for the communities use.

    The Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge consists of 22 islands and 3 mainland tracts.

  • Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge: Middle Island, St. Marys

    A walking trail located on bridge-accessible Middle Island near St. Marys, WV, offers a good setting for wildlife observation and photography. It includes a barrier-free section leading to a viewing blind that overlooks a small wetland. In the spring, this wetland attracts waterbirds such as ducks, geese, and shorebirds. Additional information about the trail is posted at the trailhead. Stunningly beautiful.

    This school boasts a newly renovated paved walking trail that connects to the Belmont Recreation Area. The path is smooth and wide with no grade, approx. 1/2 mile. This school has excellent recreational facilities.
