  • Broughton Wildlife and Education Area

    "The wildlife area contains more than 500 acres of land and is available for wildlife and environmental study by groups or individuals. It is an educational area with several trails, two ponds, a natural stream, waterfall and several areas of undisturbed nature located about one mile north of Marietta. The main entrance and parking area is located near a red barn off of Ohio 821. The Route 60 entrance is behind the Marietta Bible College. The nature area is open when the gates are unlocked."

Abundant wildlife including white-tailed deer, barred owls, ruffed grouse and an occasional bobcat make the wooded ravines and ridge tops their home. A wonderful place for hiking at any time of the year.

    A small park on Washington avenue in Belpre, OH. It is in the bend of the road across from the entrance to the public boat ramp.

  • Kroger Wetlands

    "Visit this 14.5 acre wetland preserved within the city limits of Marietta. Kroger Wetlands contains a 1-mile walking trail with footbridge. A kiosk in the parking lot has information about the many species of birds and plants that can be found and a map of the walking trail. The wetlands are open year round dawn to dark."

  • Lake Hope State Park

    Lake Hope State Park, lies entirely within the 26,824-acre Zaleski State Forest. It is a rugged, heavily forested region traversed by steep gorges and narrow ridges. Abandoned mines, ancient mounds, and beautiful scenery provide interest and pleasures for hikers, photographers, and nature lovers alike at one of Ohio's most scenic state parks. Watch for deer, turkeys, and beavers as you hike the trails. Visit the nature center, relax at the beach or rent a canoe to paddle the lake.

    A walk/ride in the park There’s nothing better than being able to come home and grab a quick ride on the bike. With the help and hard work of Ryan Smith and others of RVMBA we have been able to secure some green space right in the city of Marietta for trail building.

    The McDonough Wildlife Refuge is a beautiful 277-acre wildlife refuge with trails that pass through beautiful wetlands and a forested hillside. The refuge offers several miles of well-marked and maintained trails for hiking and is a haven for local wildlife such as white-tailed deer and migratory birds.

    One of the 2 keystone sites in the ORINWR, which consists of 22 islands and 3 mainland tracts. Middle Island is the keystone site accessible by bridge from the City of St. Marys. Middle Island is a popular nature location for hiking, photography, birding, picnicing, etc.

  • Pickerington Ponds Metro Park

  • Ray's MTB Indoor Park

    As one of the first indoor multi-terrain bike parks, Ray's MTB facility aims to provide a whole spectrum of mountain bike terrain and obstacles. It is aimed both to improve skills and introduce riders to new disciplines in a safe environment as well as provide riding facilities all year round.

  • Salt Fork State Park

    Developed hiking trails wind throughout the park. Approximately 14 miles have been created for exercise and for the enjoyment of plant and animal life in this region. Wheelchair accessible hard-topped trails have also been added to accommodate all guests.

  • Zaleski State Forest

    The Zaleski State Forest is the second largest forest in the system. The Zaleski State Forest Backpack Trail was established on the forest to provide backpacking opportunities as well as to introduce some scenic and historic aspects of the forest. The main trail is a loop of 23.5 miles. There is also a 10-mile day loop trail.
